“'Indigo Lights II' was made in 2006, specifically to participate in the miniature quilt project for the National Quilt Museum. I was asked to replicate one of my quilts, and as I had just finished 'Indigo Lights' for the cover of my new book, it seemed a perfect quilt to replicate. The quilt design is taken from an antique silk quilt in the Shelburne (VT) Museum, and the block is a hybrid with both Log Cabin and Pineapple sections.
Miniature quilts are a wonderful way to have the ‘punch’ of a full-sized quilt in a limited space. The small size pieces can be problematic, but once you master the techniques, it can be very rewarding."
