This quilt is the first in Angela’s series that includes sheer sections. A vintage piece of fabric in gold, green, and hot pink was the initial inspiration for the quilt. She worked every bit of it into the quilt and enjoyed the challenge of combining blocks of different sizes. Angela works with silk organza and geometric open spaces because she feels these windows in a quilt add another dimension. In this particular quilt she layered the batting and backing over the entire quilt and then cut out the spaces at the last minute. Angela comments that inspiration for each quilt comes from a different place – some are highly planned and some just happen. She adds that Jelly Bean was one of the most fun to make.
