"I hope to achieve a connection to the history and tradition of quiltmaking. Today's cutting-edge quilts have examples of techniques used in antique quilts that we now perceive as innovative.
I often use antique quilts as inspiration to make an original design. To keep the traditional style of quiltmaking a viable art, I think it's important to maintain the creativity that was prevalent in early quilts. No two were the same.
My quilts are done entirely 'by hand.' This allows many hours of creative decision making as the design progresses. I enjoy the tactile feel of the fabric and quilt sandwich in my hands as the quilt nears completion
I hope to continue the traditional quilt as an art form for the future."
