"This little quilt gave me the opportunity to utilize my love of hand needlework with my passion for quilting. I have always had a particular fascination for crazy quilts. The challenge in creating a miniature crazy quilt became apparent when I realized that the size of the patches would dictate the stitch pattern as well as the threads to use. I played with the idea of using silk ties, but quickly found out that the beautiful patterns in the ties detracted from the embroidery stitches. The silks came from Mandarina Silks, LLC, as well as my neighbors collections of used silk blouses."
