"I love experimenting with my own original designs and putting my own "twist' on an old pattern to please myself. Making miniature quilts goes along with my fascination for tiny things .... dolls, dollhouses, bottles, purses, pictures, glass, beadwork, lace, etc. This is my original miniature Hawaiian quilt named for the island where my Brother and his family have lived for many years. Someone, knowing of my fascination with Hawaiian quilts , gave me a 1/8 pattern for a pillow. After a decade or so, I rediscovered it and decided to make a miniature Hawaiian quilt honoring my family and their beautiful island. This "mini" was finished in March 1998. It was a real challenge to creatively miniaturize this piece, then quilting native flower shapes and embroidering tiny details."
