“I love everything about quilting. I like hand work as well as machine work and try to add a little something different in each quilt. I love working with colors and trying to create my own designs. I don’t want to use anyone else’s pattern, but I get my ideas from all kinds of things, antique quilts, Dover books, quilt books, etc. When I am making a quilt I usually draw out some kind of a plan but will probably change it as I go along. In quilting there is a place for everyone, whether you like to just piece or appliqué by hand or machine, use printed patterns, design your own pattern, hand quilt or machine quilt with a regular machine or a longarm, art quilts, or whatever you want to do. Since I started quilting in 1981 I have tried just about every technique. My quilts are more traditional and I like the challenge of entering my quilts in contests.”
