Bonnie used “Grace and Glory”, a pattern by Mary Sorenson for the International Quilting Association 2003 raffle quilt, as her inspiration for Organic Garden. She added ruched roses, animals and bugs she found in her own garden, and extensive hand quilting.
"I set personal goals for myself that keep stretching me beyond what I've done in the past. I always keep open to new insights as I work and ask myself, 'what if?'
"I don't very often have my quilts planned from start to finish. Many times I end up interjecting elements found around me in nature. I love to put little animals, birds or insects on my quilts. Ultimately, I quilt to please myself. I love owning beautiful, well-made things."
