"The Oriental design came as a result of living two years in Southeast Asia. One night was spent with paper and crayons at the kitchen table. By morning the design was finalized down to the last detail. The Chinese symbols quilted in blue were from my imagination and have no meaning that I am aware of. The outside border quilting is bamboo with Chinese temples in each corner. In the center panel is my name in Chinese. My objective was to make a quilt that would have a quiet and peaceful effect in the room. My hope is that this was accomplished."
