"I began quilting in about 1970, but I had been sewing since I was ten years old. I was the oldest of five children and I made my clothes and those of my younger sisters. Quilting was not a tradition in my family, but I had many friends who got me interested in it. We would meet once a week for our quilting together, sometimes on a special project for a charity, sometimes for each other's special projects. My greatest achievement in quilting is the fact that my quilt is in the National Quilt Museum, of which I am very proud."
