"As I began to grow in my knowledge and ability, I knew I wanted to deviate somewhat from using someone else’s patterns and do some totally original work. I purchased a handmade oriental rug in Greece in 1985, and as result became inspired to make an applique quilt that looked similar to the unusual shapes and colors in the rug. I’ve met so many wonderful friends both from here and all over the country through quilting. Quilting has enriched my life immensely."
