"It takes me eight to twelve hours to complete a miniature quilt, and the yardage is often less than one-eighth of a yard. This gives me the freedom to consider design and color in ways I would never dare in a full-size quilt. Even with the dozen different blocks I normally use, I'll never fully explore the possibilities. I have little chance of getting bored.
With miniature quilts, pieced by machine and quilted by hand, I have the best of all worlds: I can complete a particular piece, I can almost keep up with the ideas in my head, and I have an easily transportable quilting project with which to leisurely unwind."
