"I have been a rosemaler for many years and love to draw and quilt rosemaling designs changing the scrolls to feathers. I felt with this fabric I wanted a framed center design and corner designs. It's an original design, totally free-motion domestic machine quilted. I had originally started this quilt on a dark teal Dupioni silk with matching thread and it was impossible to see where I had stitched, so I decided to make it with the red dupioni silk instead and it was much easier on my eyes! I enjoy making miniature quilts because I enjoy the creativity that goes with drawing the designs. I like to take the fabric I will be using and draw whatever I feel would work with the fabric. My eraser and I are good friends! Quilting small designs isn't necessarily easier, but the finished work comes faster."
