"Quiltmaking offers the opportunity to combine comfort with artistry.
My first introduction to it was in visiting my prospective in-laws in Pennsylvania. They were prime examples of thrift and made quilts for use, but as lovely as possible with what they had on hand, usually scraps from sewing.
Now that we are grandparents there are added opportunities to supply quilts for cuddling, which provides pleasure in the making and in seeing them used.
Because of the friendships formed in quilt clubs and at shows, my life is enriched by sharing ideas and working with others who enjoy the same activity."
