"When I was a child my father raised rabbits, and entered them in competition. One year his prize rabbit ‘Creampuff’ won in Wisconsin, and was shipped by train to the national show, where it won the grand prize. We had a beautiful trophy with a crouching rabbit at the top as a reminder of this journey to excellence. I love animals, and included this symbol in the center of the quilt as a reminder of my father and a tribute to the pursuit of excellence. In addition, as an inveterate cat lover, I always include in each quilt my 'signature,' the sleeping cat motif, and there is one in each upper corner of the quilt. This quilt was made in honor of my dear cat Nipper, a stray Tabby who came out of the woods and shared my life, giving me so much happiness for 21 years."
