"In my everyday life I am very much a conformist; however, quilting seems to be my way of breaking the rules and expressing my individuality. I quilt with both hands on top of the quilt, one stitch at a time; I make my own thimbles and don't use a quilting needle; I use my quilting hoop backwards and prefer to use my own ideas and designs. Prairie points have always held a particular fascination for me because they add texture and dimension to the quilt. I began experimenting with the idea of using them to form the quilt design, resulting in several wall hangings and quilt patterns. Prairie points have now become somewhat of a trademark of my work."
