"Star-Crossed is a tribute to my birthplace. Texas is the Lone Star State, known for its wide-open spaces, so the star theme was a natural. The center star radiates out over the rest of the quilt. The background represents the water of the Gulf Coast, a favorite recreation spot of our family. We often sit on the deck of our beach house in the small fishing village of Port O’Connor, located on the Matagorda Bay, and watch the stars as they debut across the night sky. Their reflection on the constantly moving bay waters is depicted in Star-Crossed."
