"I began quilting in 1982 to make gifts for family members for whom I could not sew clothes. There was no family tradition of quilting, but quiltmaking has become central to my life. I think about quilts every day, even when I am not actually working on a project. I plan much of my life around quilting, taking handwork for visits with family and friends, making trips that include quilt shows."
"This Feathered Star quilt is a favorite quilt pattern of mine. I enjoy using small multicolored prints which appear as solids from a distance. They may entice the viewer to come closer which makes the quilt more interesting."
