"The thought of making a quilt had always seemed like an insurmountable and unending task, until in 1979, I joined a quilt club. I discovered if you approach making a quilt from the standpoint of piecing a given number of blocks, it is not such an impossible task. Starry, Starry Night began with seven yards of horizontal multi-striped fabric. The exterior border corners had to be redesigned due to a shortage of the striped material. My philosophy in quilting and in life is the same – you’ll never know if you can do it unless you try."
