"This quilt is a memory of a sailing trip in the Caribbean. Our youngest son sailed the Atlantic Ocean and we joined him in Antigua. On this trip I started piecing the Lone Star center. It was meant as an octagonal tablecloth, but my husband didn’t like it on the table, so it went into the cupboard. After some months I thought out how to make a bed quilt out of it. The pattern is based on 45-degree diamonds creating a variation of the Lone Star in the center and Virginia Stars in the broad border and corners."
