Artist Commentary

Label

Having learned to make quilts from her Sioux in-laws, especially in the Broken Star pattern, Dawn found artistry and achievement later when she began dyeing her own fabrics. "My first machine quilt was a Broken Star quilt and my first appliqué began with an eagle. This quilt combines those images in a tribute to my start as a quiltmaker and to all beginnings."
