"I have always been fascinated with how the mind can play tricks. Why does one person see a picture of a vase, and another of two faces; a beautiful woman or a hag? These are just two common examples of types of optical illusions. In this quilt, I have used three types of optical illusions: ambiguous image, figure-ground perception, and anamorphic perception, to hide sixteen tigers in the quilt. There are six in the applique and ten in the quilting. Having trouble finding them? Hint: don't miss the tiger for the trees. This quilt is inspired by a drawing by Willustration."
