"Two events led to the creation of this quilt. First was the purchase of a wonderful floral repeat-stripe fabric that I thought would be a good challenge for me as it was printed in a color palette that I dislike: orange, olive green, and khaki. Second was the book review I gave for my quilt guild on Marsha McCloskey’s The Feathered Star. As a visual aid I made a Feathered Star block which became the central design element for this medallion quilt. I selected the repeat-stripe tulip fabric for the star and outside border."
