"I learned quilting at an early age from my mother, but Up, Up & Away was my first original effort. The stuffing technique is my own, and since making this quilt I have continued to perfect it. The design evolved, restricted by the material I had on hand. The overall concept was inspired by an oriental rug I saw in a book.
I worked for 40 years in interior design, and taught design for twenty years in vocational school. My quilting is influenced by my design training."
