Description
'Priest's Hill' on Klock Avenue.
At the top you can see the priest's residence (far left) the first Catholic school (centre) and the North Bay water standpipe at the far right.
In 1887, a presbytery or priest's house was constructed and furnished for $3,500. It was located on a tract of land that was eventually occupied by St. Joseph's hospital. The Klock Ave (Algonquin Ave in later years) hill came to be known as 'priests' hill' once it was occupied by the Roman Catholic Priests in October of 1887.
