John Halliday & Son Hardware was located on Main Street (138 Main Street at time of photos) and was
taken over by Bob's Hardware in 1970s. This store was purchaed by John Halliday in 1941. Original owners by J.W. McDonald later joined by Geo E. Hay and firm named “McDonald & Hay”. Eventually Geo. W. McDonald, son of J.W. took over the business and operated until 1941 until sold to John Halliday. Business was later sold to Robert Edwards in 1957. Information from "North Bay" by WKP Kennedy.
The store opened in late 1930s, the back of photo says it was taken in June 1941.
