background. MacDonald & Hay Hardware opened in 1892 with the name change to North Bay Hardware in the 1930s and then changed again to Halliday Hardware in 1941 when the business was sold to John Halliday.
On back of photo is written:
"Feb. 4, 1941.
-Office is behind ladder on other side of glass.
-Office done over on Feb. 14, 15, 1941, 29 on right corner."
