Description
Photographer's Envelope (a) holds prints and negatives (b-x) of the Old Home Week Parade in 1948. In most photo's, we see pedestrians lined up on the side of the road watching the parade.
- Print (b) belongs with negative (m). Shows a 2 story parade float going down the street, very faintly we can read: "ED. Brunette & Company".
- Print (c) belongs with negative (n). Shows about 9 people with decorated pedal bikes going own the street during the parade.
- Print (d) belongs with negative (o). Shows a couple people in costum walking down the street.
- Print (e) belongs with negative (p). Shows a decorated "Star Taxi" going in the parade.
- Print (f) belongs with negative (q). Shows large truck with decorated flat bed, reads: "Ontario Department of Lands & Forests" & "Lands & Recreational Areas \ Reforestation \ Timber, Fish & Forest Management Wildlife Protection".
- Print (g) belongs with negative (r). Shows decorated flower car, reads on door: "Phone 505 North Bay".
- Print (h) belongs with negative (s). Shows a older truck decorated, reads: "Aussem Construction Co. Limited. Phone 2046M".
- Print (i) belongs with negative (t). Shows a N.B.F.D. Bickle Fire Truck with clowns riding on it.
- Print (j) belongs with negative (u). Shows a large flat parade float for the Lions Club.
- Print (k) belongs with negative (v). Shows a truck with the british flag on the front, sponsored by the Algonquin Veterans Assn. We also see a cross on the back on the truck bed.
- Print (l) belongs with negative (w). Shows a decorated truck to represent the Home Nursing Class. Nurses on the bed of the truck.
- Negative (x) does not have a print. This image was found in the photographer's envelope with the others but is from a different event. This photo shows Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth) and Prince Philip in North Bay in during 1951 royal visit in a top-down car going down the street with crowds waving.
