Description

This photograph was taken on June 11, 1967 and depicts the North Bay Pipes and Drums (then named the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 Pipes and Drums) marching into the cathedral for the dedication of its new organ. It is unusual for North Bay’s pipe band to play into a church but this was a special occasion and a different perspective of the band: it was more common for the band to be photographed from the front when entering a room or building. Like most of their performances in North Bay, the band helped a local institution celebrate an important milestone. This photograph is loaned with permission of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 North Bay.
