Description
Envelope (a) contains photographs and negatives (b-g) of the Queen's Hotel fire in North Bay, ON on January 27, 1937. The fire caused $300,000.00 in damage. Hotel was partly insured, said to have been caused by an overheated furnace pipe. Envelope states there are 2 prints, 1 neg, however, there are 3 prints and 3 negatives. Print (b) seems to be taken from an elevated platform. Shows smoke coming from the Queen's hotel and lots of rubble. Belongs with negative (c). Print (d) shows the Queen's Hotel after the fire. Belongs with negative (e). Print (f) shows smoke and rubble again, this time from a street angle view. Belongs with negative (g). A part of the Forder Collection.
