Description

Poster from the Algonquin Regiment Decoration of Colours. Inscriptions read "The Algonquin Regiment (1900-1984)," "Our Northern Heritage Is Strong 'TAKE PRIDE'", and "Presentation Of Colours 8th December, 1984. Images include an apparent regimental crest, and a sketch shows several soldiers and is captioned "Ne Ka Ne Tah (We lead-Others Follow)". "The poster was advertising / commemorating the "Presentation of Colours", which is the formal presentation of two flags to the unit. The flags are known as the "Colours" and are symbolically very important. There is a Queen's colour and a Regimental colour,The Queen's represents the regiment's loyalty to the crown and the regimental colour, the battle honours of the regiment. It is a significant event in a Regiment's life to be presented their colours." - Military authority Bill Alexander
