Description
Book. "Here Come the Girl Guides", by Kitty Barne. Content description: "This 'short but pithy history', as the Chief Guide, Lady Baden-Pwell, calls it in her Foreword, covers the Girl Guide Movement from its first inception in 1909, when a handful of determined children, despite their discouraging grown-ups, insisted on recognition as the feminine counterpart of the Boy Scouts, down to the outbreak of war in 1939". An inscription in the top right corner of the book's first page indicates it belonged to "Mrs. Mabel Bradford", "319-A Algonquin Avenue", "North Bay, Ontario". The book's pages contain various annotations in pencil.Creator
