Description

Framed quilted artwork, slightly larger in size than microwave door. Image is a young girl or woman in an old-fashioned outfit holding a bag that states "I [heart symbol displayed here] Girl Guide Cookies". The girl/woman is constructed from various pieces of light-blue-and-white-striped cloth and navy blue cloth, and pieces of what appears to be real or artificial hair. The girl/woman is displayed against a white quilt square with dark blue trimming, which forms the background. In the bottom right corner of the white square, written in pen, is: "For Division Training Day", "Feb. 26 , 1994", "Trefoil Guild", "North Bay Ontario". The frame is made of wood of a brown colour with dark brown streaks, and its inner edge (surrounding the artwork) is painted in gold. The frame is inset with a glass pane. On the back of the artifact is written "Made by Algonquin Trefoil Guild", "Doris Sanderson", "Mabel Bradford", "Mary Standen", "Ann Clark", "Joyce Lyons".
