-worked for the ONR for 44 years
-photo taken on his first day as a baggageman
on the back of the print the number 8056 is written in pencil in the upper left corner followed by the words "Eli Gervais (right) (note tie) 1st. day on the job as baggageman (?)" written in black ink
-print is slightly worn on the edges especially at the corners
-small fragments of the image has been lost in the upper left and both lower corners
-there is asmall diagonal bend mark in the upper right corner
