North Bay: 1882-1982 Postcard The Ferguson Block, a flatiron building at the corner of Main & Oak & Algonquin was destroyed by fire in 1964. Also known as the "Transportation Building", it was named after John McIntyre Ferguson, one of North Bay's founders and mayor (1919-1922). Oak Street wa originally named Front Street.
