This photograph of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 Pipes and Drums, as the North Bay
Pipes and Drums were known in 1965, was taken from the railway bridge that crossed over
Ferguson Street.
North Bay Legion, as the host of the provincial convention, would have involved its pipe band
in various events associated with that convention. Here, they lead the parade up Ferguson
Street in their full-dress uniforms. From 1948 to present day, the band still participates in
Legion events.
