Description
Series of photos originally in a photo envelope from S. Guindon sent to Bill Alexander from the "Presentation of Colours" ceremony which involved the formal presentation of two flags to the Algonquin Regiment in 1984.
These flags are known as the "Colours" and are symbolically very important. There is a Queen's colour, which represents the regiment's loyalty to the crown. There is also a Regimental Colour, which represents the battle honours of the regiment. The presentation of their colours is a significant event in a Regiment's life. Photos are in front of City hall, in downtown, and inside City Hall.
