This postcard has a young boy in long rubber boots, brown pants, white shirt and straw hat with a maple leaf in it is standing beside a flag pole with his hands on the rope, ready to hoist the Canadian Ensign.The background shows a bay of water and a cloudy sky. At the bottom left hand corner are the words "YOUNG CANADA."
On the back of the postcard, written vertically on the left edge of the card, is " Valentine's "ARTOTYPE" Series. Printed in Great Britain Valentine & Sons' Publishing Co. Ltd. Montreal and Toronto. In pencil in stamp box is written "$12.50." As well as in pencil at bottom right hand corner "132/3" is also written.Creator
