ثوب من منطقة بئر السبع وبئر العابد (منطقة سيناء)، من قماش القطن الأسود، مطرز بخيوط حرير يغلب عليها اللون الأحمر. لا تحمل قبة الثوب أي تطريز ويوجد قطعة من قماش الحرير الهرمزي البرتقالي على عنق القبة، أما الأكتاف فطُرّزت بشكل كثيف بعرق خيمة الباشا والسرو والريش ونجمة بيت لحم والأشكال الهندسية، بينما لا تحمل الردهة الخلفية أي تطريز. وطُرّزت الأكمام بعرق السرو والريش ونجمة بيت لحم وأشكال هندسية، أما إسورة الكم فطُرّزت بعرق السرو.
يظهر تطريز خفيف من عرق الريش والسرو على البدن الأمامي للثوب، بينما يظهر تطريز كثيف من عرق خيمة الباشا والسرو والأشكال الهندسية على البدن الخلفي للثوب، أما البنايق فطُرّزت بعرق السرو والمراوح والأشكال الهندسية. وطُرّز ذيل الثوب بقطبة الحشي السائد استخدامها في أثواب منطقة بئر السبع.
A thobe (dress) from Bir Saba’ and Bir al-Abd (North Sinai). It is made of black cotton and embroidered with primarily red silk threads. The chest panel of the thobe has no embroidery. The collar bears a piece of orange silk (heremzi) sewn into it. As for the shoulders, they have a heavy tatreez (embroidery) of Pasha’s tent, cypress, feather, and the feather of Bethlehem motifs along with geometric shapes, whereas the back of the chest panel bears no tatreez. The sleeves are embroidered with cypress, feather, the star of Bethlehem motifs and geometric shapes, while the cuffs are embroidered with cypress motifs. The front panel has a light tatreez of feather and cypress motifs, whereas the back panel has a heavy tatreez of Pasha’s tent and cypress motifs, as well as geometric shapes. Moreover, the sides (al-Banayiq) are embroidered with cypress and fans motifs along with geometric shapes. The tail of the thobe is embroidered using a Tihshaya (couching) filling stitch, the stitch type used in all thobes from the Bir Saba’ area.Made/Created
