Description

(1808-1894)." A photograph of a hand-colored lithographic plate after the German painter Carl Werner, showing the manger area opposite to the Birthplace, but two steps lower down, painted during his visit to the Church of Nativity. It also includes hanging oil lamps, let candles, and curtains covering the walls. This plate was included by Hisham Khatib in his book "Jerusalem, Bethlehem & the Holy Land & Egypt: Paintings by Carl Werner (1808-1894)."
