Penn alumna Lauren Sweeney's watercolors reflect her experience as a scientific illustrator and biologist with her still-lifes and landscapes. After earning her BA in biology from Penn, Sweeney went on to earn a degree in medical illustration and later a PhD in biology, all of which influence her paintings' subject matter. Much of her work features shells, plants, and animals, juxtaposed with man-made domestic objects. This watercolor of Sweeney's shows the familiar scene of College Hall in the snow, as seen from College Green (Blanche P. Levy Park).Dimensions
