One of American Pop Artist Robert Indiana's (1928-2018) most prolific motifs, viewers will likely recognize the LOVE from the iconic sculpture on Penn's campus. Indiana's distinct style is characterized by his use of simple forms and bright colors. The artist first produced the LOVE design for the Museom of Modern Art's 1965 Christmas card, and later went on to produce the design in many other color combinations and languages. This LOVE print comes from Indiana's The Garden of Love series, with colors inspired by flowers, such as phlox in this print, among lilac, rose, and others.Type of Print
