The two works in this collection are from of a series by Witmer pf paintings made with black gesso on yellow student lined paper. Per the artist's website, "The School Papers are a series of mixed media works on found vintage school-grade writing paper. They have been made since 2005, typically in sessions or phases. Frequently months and years pass between the beginning and completion of individual works." In this work, a square of black allows the top and bottom of the paper to be seen.
