Description

This is the wood engraving completed by Craig based on the stage set he designed for the storm scene in King Lear. The V&A website indicated that he made the woodcut in July 1920. The date that Craig signed it likely indicates the date this print was made. This is one of Craig's most well-known woodcuts. Figures in silhouette walk against the wind which moves in a large circle across the landscape. The work is a contrast in black and the cream color of the paper.
