Name/Title
D. C. Konkel Furniture Store Interior (“Uptown”), Broken Bow, NebraskaDescription
This busy furniture store interior is packed with merchandise, including cabinets, baby carriages, stools, wooden chairs, dressers, and even a piano. The walls are decorated with pictures, frames, baskets, and other home furnishings. Four people stand posed for the camera, while a lone man in the far background appears to look out a side door or window, his face illuminated by the light.
A note on the back reads: “Interior of Grandpa’s furniture store - Uptown. Gifford.” The photographer’s stamp reads “G. P. Michael, Photographer, Uni. Place, Nebr.”
This appears to be a companion photograph to “D. C. Konkel Furniture, Broken Bow, Nebraska, 1904,” also in this collection. The handwriting on the reverse closely matches the notes on that photograph, which specifically mention an interior photograph of the furniture store.Made/Created
