Here is an interesting street scene of an unidentified location. On the back it is marked “Spring, 1903,” which seems to fit the details presented. A row of about three storefronts leads diagonally toward the back, with a separate, interestingly detailed two-story building beyond them. Under magnification, one legible detail on the closest store reads “Shoes,” while “Drugs” can be read on the window of the middle building. A sign above the door of the third building remains illegible. About nine men, women, and children gather on the raised wooden sidewalk above the dirt roadway. A small dog can also be spotted near a bench beside the man at the far end of the row.
On the back, a torn fragment of printed paper has been pasted along the left edge of the mount; only a few words remain visible, and its original purpose is unclear.Made/Created
