Description

Photo taken during an open air in Chicago, Illinois. A crowd of men, women, and children encircle a group of women Salvationists. One woman is kneeling by the bass drum, lying on its side in the center. An upside down tambourine is resting on the drumhead. The other women are kneeling behind here and several of them are holding brass horns and a guitar. A Salvation Army flag can be seen behind the woman at the drum. In the far background, tall buildings line the street. The back of the photo has editorial notes and several stamps from the Central Territory Headquarters Public Relations Department.
