Scope and Content

Photo postcard of the John M. and Jane Paton family. Seated in the first row are James Paton, John W. Paton, David M. Paton, and Robert Paton. Standing in the back row is Jane (McMahon) Paton, John M. Paton, and their adopted daughter Ursula Paton. Everyone is wearing a Salvation Army uniform and the women are both wearing bonnets. Penciled notes on the white border identify the Paton sons in the front row. On the back, the stamp box has AZO printed around it. There are two handwritten notes on the back. The first, written in pencil, reads: Major and Mrs. Paton and family Jan 26-1939. Next to it in ink is "formerly our very (underlined) good officers. The second note reads: Dear Mr. Lee, Here is what I promised you. Was real glad to see you. Tell everybody I said hello. / Mrs. Paton.
