Scope and Content

Postcard printed on creme colored cardstock. Front side contains a photographic reproduction of two female Salvation Army War Service workers (Doughnut Girls) holding bread, bowls and cookware. The women have been identified as Alice and Violet McAllister. The women wear Salvation Army uniforms and Brodie helmets. They stand in front of a rustic structure. A caption below the image reads: "'Chow' The Salvation Army with the A. E. F." The back of the postcard contains publisher information in Paris, France (obscured by velcro), place for postage and markings indicating that this was intended for soldiers mail. Also present is a handwritten note identifying the women pictured on the front of the postcard.
