At the edge of the road are a gun and an automobile, both of which appear destroyed/damaged. Two men in uniform stand in the road looking at the automobile. One man is touching the automobile and the other is standing nearby, holding a bicycle.
On the back of the photograph, written in pencil, is: "C. 16. Craonne Road. Chemin des Dames/ Auto- gun." and to the right "Aug. 1918". Stamped in blue/purple at the bottom is: "Cliche J.
