Description

Commemorative badge made for the 17th annual City Marshals and Police Chiefs Union of Texas Convention, which was held in Fort Worth on May 17-19, 1911. Gold colored badge. Rectangular, but bottom edge comes to a point. Partially concave. Sides and bottom have decorative leaf motif reliefs. towards the top is a star releif with wings coming out either side of the star. Text reads: "MEMBER/ FORT WORTH/ 1911/ CONVENTION/ CITY MARSHALS/ AND/ CHIEFS OF POLICE/ OF/ TEXAS. The badge was used to identify convention participants, provide them with free transportation and also admit the wearer into free amusements.
